Dear Mr Angelopoulos,
On behalf of the Greek Orthodox Community and Church of Canberra and District Incorporated would like to propose that the 2013, 5th Pan Hellenic Games are held in Canberra.
An initial approach has already been made to the Local Government which is very keen and fully supports the idea of having the Games in Canberra in 2013.
As you may be aware in 2013 the Australian National Capital will be celebrating its Centenary. Further, the Greek Community of Canberra enjoys the great respect of the wider community of the Australian Capital for its contribution to its development and role in supporting and working towards achieving the goals of an exemplary multicultural city.
Even though the Greek Community of Canberra is small in comparison to the Greek communities in other Australian cities, it has manage with the inspiring role, initiatives and support of the Hellenic Club of Canberra to show that it leads the way in maintaining and promoting the Greek culture to the wider Australian community.
Also in Canberra we have the Canberra Olympic Football Club which has been participating in the Pan Hellenic Games and fully supports the holding of the Games in Canberra.
Finally, the Australian National Capital has excellent facilities for holding such an event.
For the above reasons we would love to have the 5th Pan Hellenic Games for 2013 in Canberra and on behalf of the Greek Community of Canberra I can promise you that we will do everything possible to have the best ever Pan Hellenic Games in our city.
Looking forward to your positive response, I remain
Yours sincerely
Paul Levantis
President
